Studied at the College of the Papal Propaganda Congregation in Rome, Italy. Ordained a Syro-Malabar priest on 27 May 1899. Parish priest in the Indian towns of Kavalam, Edathua and Champakulam. Founded the Sisters of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament (Adoration Congregation) on 8 December 1908, which continues its good work today. Chosen Vicar Apostolic of the eparch of Changanacherry, India and Titular Bishop of Pella on 30 August 1911. Noted for this work to fight propaganda, illiteracy, alcoholism, social injustice and discrimination against women. Founded Saint Berchman’s College in Changanacherry in 1922. Consecrated bishop of Changanacherry on 21 December 1923 where he served the remaining two years of his life. During his episcopate, Thomas wrote 113 pastoral letters to his people.
