Venerable Mario Hiriart PulidoProfile

Lifelong layman in the archdiocese of Santiago de Chile. In 1948 he began studying engineering at the Afonso de Ercilla Institute run by the Marist Brothers. While still in school in 1949, he became part of the Schoenstatt Movement and consecrated himself to the Blessed Virgin Mary on 29 May 1949. He graduated from the Catholic University of Chile in 1953. For the next four years he worked on several engineering projects for different firms. From 1957 to 1959 he studied at the Secular Institute of the Brothers of Mary of Schoenstatt in Brazil. Engineering professor at Catholic University from 1960 to 1963.
