The Holiness of the Church in the Nineteenth Century – Venerable Marianus of Rocca Casale

Blessed Mariano of RoccacasaleIn the same monastery of Civitella lived and died another holy lay-brother, the Venerable Marianus of Rocca Casale near Sulmone. He first joined the Franciscans of the province of Abruzzi, but at his request was sent to the novitiate of the Roman province at Civitella. Here he was porter for nearly fifty years. He died at the age of eighty-eight on the Feast of the Sacred Heart, 31 May 1886.
