Saints of the Day – Blessed Emmanuel of Cremona

main article for Saint Emmanuel of CremonaArticle

Died 1198. Emmanuel was bishop of Cremona, Italy, from 1190 to 1195. Some writers make him a Cistercian monk of Adwerth in Frisia before his episcopate; but Adwerth wasn’t founded until 1192. In 1195, Emmanuel did indeed retire to Adwerth, where he died, possibly in the Cistercian habit (Benedictines).
