Profile
Son of a pagan nobleman; relative of Saint Arnulf of Metz who was instrumental in Bertulf converting to Christianity. Monk at Luxeuil Abbey in 620. Monk and, in 627, abbot of the monastery in Bobbio, Italy. Known for his strict adherence to the Rule of Saint Columbanus, and his outspoken preaching against Arianism, and as a miracle worker and healer. Reported by a brother monk to have been miraculously cured of a fever by the intercession of Saint Peter the Apostle.
