Martyred c.258 in Rome. Ostiary of the Church at Rome. According to his legend he was a soldier, converted to Christianity by the example of Saint Lawrence, by whom he was baptized. Relics in the churches of San Lorenzo and Santa Catarina dei Funari, Rome. Feast, Roman Calendar, 9 August. Several martyrs of this name are mentioned in large companies of Christians.
