New Catholic Dictionary – Saint Manahen

Confessor (1st century). He belonged to the household of Herod Antipas, and is thought to have given Saint Luke information regarding Antipas and other members of that family. He may have been a disciple of Christ; and was probably one of the founders of the Antiochene church. He sent Saint Paul and Saint Barnabas on their first missionary journey (Acts 13). Feast, 24 May.
