New Catholic Dictionary – Saint Deicolus


(Dichuil) Born Ireland c.530; died Lure, France, 625. He accompanied Saint Columbanus on his missionary journey to Gaul, and late in life founded an abbey under the Rule of Columbanus at Lure where his memory is still revered. Feast, 18 January.
