Reigned from 17 August 682 to 28 June 683. Born in Sicily; died in Rome. He confirmed the Acts of the Sixth Æcumenical Council and condemned Pope Honorius I, not for teaching heresy, but for neglecting to oppose it. He secured from Emperor Constantine Pogonatus a revocation of the edict of Constans II which proclaimed the bishops of Ravenna free from the direct jurisdiction of the Bishop of Rome. Feast, Roman Calendar, 28 June.
