New Catholic Dictionary – Pope Anastasius IV
Reigned from 9 July 1153 to 3 December 1154. Born in Rome, Italy; died there. He was Cardinal–bishop of Sabina, and during his pontificate restored the Pantheon and ended the controversy over the archiepiscopal see of Magdeburg by recognizing Frederick Barbarossa’s candidate, Wichmann.
