New Catholic Dictionary – Blessed Richard Kirkman


Martyr. Born in Addingham, Yorkshire, England; died in 1582 at York, England. He was ordained at Douai, and sent on the English mission in 1578. Arrested near Wakefield in 1582, he was tried for treason, convicted, and hanged. Beatified in 1888.
