Composer. He went to Rome in 1539, where he directed the boyschoir at Saint Peter’s, and from 15401549 sang in the papal choir. Six books of his madrigals appeared at Venice, 15381556, and three books of Masses and other sacred compositions, in Paris in 1557. As a musician of the Netherland school his influence helped to found the 16th-century Italian school.
