Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson

The fourth of ten children, his father was a carpenter, and his mother worked as a costermonger in their village market. Priest, ordained in the Archdiocese of Cape Coast, Ghana on 20 July 1975. Archbishop of Cape Coast in 6 October 1992. Elevated to Cardinal-Priest of San Liborio by Pope Benedict XVI on 21 October 2003. President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace on 24 October 2009.
