Cardinal Michael Logue


Ordained in December 1866. Bishop of Raphoe, Ireland on 13 May 1879. Coadjutor Archbishop of Armagh, Ireland and Titular Archbishop of Anazarbus on 19 April 1887. Archbishop of Armagh on 3 December 1887; he served for almost 37 years. CardinalPriest of San Maria della Pace on 16 January 1893, the first Cardinal-Primate of Armagh. Participated in the 1903 conclave that elected Pope Saint Pius X. Completed construction of the modern cathedral of Armagh, which was consecrated on 24 July 1904. Participated in the 1914 conclave that elected Pope Benedict XV. Participated in the 1922 conclave that elected Pope Pius XI.
