Butler’s Lives of the Saints – Saint Publius, Bishop and Martyr


He succeeded Saint Dionysius the Areopagite in the see of Athens, as we are assured by Saint Dionysius of Corinth, quoted by Eusebius. He went to God by martyrdom, and Saint Quadratus was chosen third bishop of that city.
