Breviary Hymns and Missal Sequences, Our Lady Throughout The Year, Matins

Whom earth, and sea, and starry skies,
Worship, adore, and God declare,
Who rules the three-fold universe,
Him Mary’s sanctuary doth bear.

Whom moon and sun and universe
Serve faithfully the seasons round,
Is carried in a Maiden’s womb,
In whom all gifts of Heaven abound.

O Mother, blessed in motherhood,
That God, whose grasp the world doth hold,
The Sovereign Maker of thyself,
Thy tabernacle did enfold.

Blessed in the messenger from Heaven,
Fruitful by God the Spirit’s Fire,
From out thy holy ark came forth
He, whom the Gentiles did desire.

Jesus, to Thee be glory given,
Who erst wast born the Virgin’s Son,
With Father and with Holy Ghost,
While everlasting ages run. Amen.
