(Saint) Virgin Martyr (December 9) (1st century) The tradition concerning her is that she was of a noble Gallo-Roman family of Limoges (France), that she was converted by Saint Martial, first Bishop of that city, and that she was beheaded as a Christian. If, as is the modern view, the Apostolate of Saint Martial be postdated to the third century, a similar change of date must be made for Saint Valeria.
