(Saint) Martyr (June 16) (1st century) A physician of Ravenna in Italy, a convert to Christianity who, sentenced to death because of his religion, hesitated for a moment; but encouraged by Saint Vitalis, a better-known Martyr, bravely laid down his life for Christ’s sake. A.D. 67 is usually given as the date of his death.
