(Saint) Bishop (May 16) (12th century) A Bishop of Gubbio in Italy, near Ancona. He was remarkable for his courage and success in meeting and softening the heart of the fierce Emperor Frederick Barbarossa, then laying Italy waste and threatening Gubbio. Saint Ubaldus died A.D. 1160 and was canonised A.D. 1192.
