(Saint) Bishop (October 31) (1st century) The Christian saluted by Saint Paul (Romans 16:9) as “my beloved one.” The tradition is that Saint Andrew consecrated him First Bishop of Byzantium (Constantinople,/a>) and that he laboured there and in the surrounding parts of Thrace until his death, about sixteen years afterwards.
