(Saint) Martyr (March 12) (4th century) An official of the Court of the Emperor Diocletian who endured frightful tortures, and in the end allowed himself to be thrown into a fiercely burning furnace, rather than betray his Lord. He suffered at Nicomedia, the Imperial Residence, A.D. 303.
