(Saint) Martyr (March 27) (11th century) A citizen of Beauvais who took part in the First Crusade. Made prisoner by the Saracens, he rightly preferred to die rather than to renounce Christ. He was beheaded A.D. 1100, or perhaps a year or two earlier.
