Book of Saints – Martha – 23 February


(Saint) Martyr (February 23) (3rd century) A Spanish maiden, one of the victims of the persecution under Decius (A.D. 250). Every artifice was employed to seduce her from the Faith; but all efforts being in vain, she was put to the torture and beheaded. Her relics are enshrined in the Cathedral of Astorga.
