Book of Saints – Marcian – 6 March


(Saint) Bishop (March 6) (2nd century) The first Bishop of Tortona in Piedmont, and Patron Saint of that city. He was a disciple of the Apostle Saint Barnabas; and after an Episcopate of forty-five years, obtained the palm of martyrdom, about A.D. 120, during the reign of the Emperor Hadrian. Saint Innocent, one of his successors, enshrined his body in a church titled after him.
