Book of Saints – Marana and Cyra


(Saints) Martyrs (August 3) (5th century) Two Christian maidens who led an austere life near Beroea in Syria in the fifth century. They were the Prototypes of the “Anchoresses” of the Middle Ages. They observed continuous silence, admitting only women to speak with them, and that on the single day of Pentecost in each year.
