Book of Saints – Macarius


(Saint) Martyr (December 8) (3rd century) A Christian burned alive for his religion (it is said) at Alexandria in Egypt during the Decian persecution. By many he is supposed to be identical with the Saint Macarius of February 28, alleged to have suffered with others in Rome, but whose death most ancient Registers place elsewhere, some at Thessalonica.
