Book of Saints – Luanus


(Lugid, Molua) (Saint) Abbot (August 4) (7th century) A disciple of Saint Comgall and (as Saint Bernard assures us) the founder of one hundred and twenty monasteries in Ireland and Scotland. His Rule was one of the most austere of its kind. August 4, A.D. 622, is given as the date of his death. His Feast is kept in Scotland on June 25.
