Book of Saints – Kyneburga, Kyneswida and Tibba

(Saints) (March 6) (7th century) Kyneburga and Kyneswida were daughters of the Pagan King Penda of Mercia. On the death of her husband, Alchfrid of Northumberland, Kyneburga, with her sister and her kinswoman Saint Tibba, retired to the monastery of Caistor in Northamptonshire, which the two former governed in succession as Abbesses. The relics of all three were enshrined in Peterborough Abbey.
