Book of Saints – Juvenal Ancina


(Blessed) Bishop (September 12) (17th century) By birth a Piedmontese, and a very learned man, who coming to Rome became a disciple of Saint Philip Neri and one of the first members of the Congregation of the Oratory. His indefatigable zeal in preaching/a> resulted in a wonderful gain of souls to God. Appointed Bishop of Saluzzo, he was recognised as one of the model Prelates of his Age. He died A.D. 1604 at the age of fifty-nine. The Process of his Beatification was completed A.D. 1890.
