(Yvo) (Saint) (May 19) (14th century) A Breton Saint, the Patron of lawyers. Born near Treguier (A.D. 1253), he 144 studied at Paris and Orleans, and all his life practised law in his native city. His gratuitous services to the oppressed and needy earned him the title of ” Advocate of the poor.” Orphans and widows he treated as his most important clients. He was above all a man of prayer and penance. He died A.D. 1303, and was canonised A.D. 1347, many miracles having been proved to have been attributable to his advocacy with Almighty God.
