Book of Saints – Indract


(Saint) Martyr (February 5) (8th century) Indract, a descendant of Irish chieftains, thirsted for penance and retirement- After years of a solitary life as a hermit, he journeyed as a pilgrim to Rome. On returning through England, he and his party, among whom was his sister Saint Dominica (Drusa), were attacked by robbers and put to death near Glastonbury. The precise date is not ascertainable. Their relics were enshrined in the Abbey Church of Glastonbury, and venerated as those of Martyrs.
