(Blessed) (March 20) (17th century) A layman at Florence who, living a toilsome life as an artisan, nevertheless succeeded in forming a congregation of men and women, devoted to the instruction of the young, and which became the model of many others. He died A.D. 1619; and many supernatural signs attested his sanctity.
