Book of Saints – Hedda, Theodore, Torthred and Others


(Saints) Martyrs (April 9) (9th century) These are known as the Martyrs of Croyland, being monks of that and of neighbouring Abbeys. They were put to the sword by the heathen Danes, about A.D. 870, and thenceforward venerated as Martyrs. To Saint Torthred (Touredec) a church in Brittany is dedicated.
