Book of Saints – Gwen

(Blanche) (Saint) Widow (October 18) (5th century) Said to have been the sister of Saint Nonna. and therefore aunt to Saint David of Wales. Saint Gwen is alleged to have been the mother of Saints Cuby and Cadfan. But the whole tradition is altogether uncertain. Another Saint Gwen, of the family of the great chieftain Brychan of Brecknock, suffered death at the hands of the heathen Saxons about A.D. 492.
