Book of Saints – Grimbald


(Saint) Abbot (July 8) (10th century) A monk, native of Flanders, well-versed in all the learning of his age, and invited to England by King Alfred. He presided for some time over the Schools at Oxford; but afterwards was called by the King to Winchester, where he died (A.D. 903).
