(Saint) Bishop (January 4) (6th century) A principal citizen of Autun, who, having lost his wife, became a priest, and ultimately Bishop of Langres (North-East of France). He converted many of the inhabitants of the surrounding villages who were as yet heathens, and drew a still greater number of lax Christians to the leading of a better life. He died A.D. 541, in the thirty-third year of his Episcopate, and was succeeded by his own son, Tetricus.
