Book of Saints – Gregory Decapolites


(Saint) (November 20) (9th century) So-called from his birthplace in Asia Minor. A fervent ninth century Catholic, who suffered much in the Iconoclastic persecution. He himself ministered, so far as he was allowed, to the imprisoned Faithful. His pupil Joseph, the Hymnographer, built a monastery over the spot where his body had been interred.
