(Saint) Martyr (July 6) (11th century) A holy woman in Flanders who, 126 after enduring much cruel treatment at the hands of her inhuman husband, was at length (A.D. 1070) murdered by him. She has ever since been venerated in Belgium, and especially at Ghent, as a Martyr.
