Book of Saints – Gaudentius of Novara


(Saint) Bishop (January 22) (5th century) A priest of Ivrea near Turin, who, driven from that city, took refuge with Saint Laurence, Bishop of Novara. Having attended Saint Eusebius of Vercelli dining the latter’s banishment, brought about by the Arians, Saint Gaudentius became the successor of Saint Laurence. In his twenty years of Episcopate, he converted many sinners, built several churches and reformed his clergy. He passed away about A.D. 418.
