(Saints) Martyrs (December 17) (7th century) Sixty Christians slain by the Mahometan invaders for the Faith of Christ at Eleutheropolis (Beit Jibrin) in Palestine. Heraclius being Emperor of the East, Jerusalem was taken by the followers of Mahomet, A.D. 637; and it was about that time that Saint Florian and his fellow-sufferers perished.
