(Saint) Prophet (April 10) (6th century B.C.) One of the Four Greater Prophets and the writer of a canonical Book of Scripture. The tradition is that he was put to death, while in captivity in Babylon with the rest of his nation, by one of the Jewish Headmen who had turned Pagan (B.C. 525), and was buried there in the tomb of the Patriarchs Sem and Arphaxad. His grave was for the early Christians a place of pilgrimage.
