Book of Saints – Eutychius – 4 February

EUTYCHIUS (Saint) Martyr (February 4) (4th century) One of the victims in Rome, it would appear, of the persecution under Diocletian at the opening of the fourth century. From the inscription composed for his tomb by Pope Saint Damasus we learn that after torture he was left for twelve days in prison without food, and in the end thrown down into a well. His relics are now venerated in the church of San Lorenzo in Damaso.
