Book of Saints – Eanswith


EANSWITH (EANSWIDA) (Saint) Virgin (August 31) (7th century) A princess of Kent, granddaughter of King Saint Ethelbert. She founded and as Abbess presided over a monastery at Folkestone, where the Parish church is still called after her. A.D. 640 is given as the date of her holy death.
