Book of Saints – Deyniolen


DEYNIOLEN (Saint) (November 22) (7th century) He is also known as Saint Deyniol the Younger, and was Abbot of Bangor at the time of the slaughter of his monks and destruction of their monastery by King Ethelfrid of Northumbria after the Battle of Chester (A.D. 616). The Saint appears to have escaped the massacre and to have lived on till about A.D. 621.
