Book of Saints – Cyrilla – 5 July

CYRILLA (Saint) Martyr (July 5) (4th century) An aged Christian widow of Cyrene (Africa) who, with others, was put to death in that place, for refusing to sacrifice to idols. She appears to have expired in the torture chamber, and so not to have been beheaded, as was usual in the official persecutions of the early centuries (A.D. 300 about).
