Book of Saints – Colman – 23 October


COLMAN (Saint) Martyr (October 23) (11th century) Either a Scot or an Irishman, who, going on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, was seized by evildoers in the neighbourhood of Vienna in Austria, tortured and hanged (A.D. 1012). Venerated as a Martyr, many miracles were wrought through his intercession. He is honoured as one of the Tutelary Saints of Austria.
