Book of Saints – Charemon and Others

CHAREMON and OTHERS (Saints) Martyrs (December 22) (3rd century) Chseremon, Bishop of Nilopolis, had reached a very advanced age when, in the Decian persecution (A.D. 250), he was forced from Egypt and compelled to take refuge in the mountains about Sinai, where he was done to death by the savage heathens of the desert. Saint Dionysius of Alexandria states that he was the leader in their flight of a number of Christians of his flock, of whom the greater part were immolated with him.
