CHAMOND (ANNEMOND) (Saint) Bishop, Martyr (September 28) (7th century) An Archbishop of Lyons, of noble family, brought up at the Court of King Clovis II. He governed his Diocese with zeal and success, but in the end fell a victim to the machinations of Ebroin, Mayor of the Palace, who caused him to be assassinated (A.D. 657). Among those who took part in the ceremony of the enshrining of the Relics of this holy Martyr was Saint Wilfrid of York.
