Book of Saints – Blasius

BLASIUS (Saint) Martyr (November 29) (1st century) Associated by tradition with Saint Mary Salome in planting the first seeds of the Christian Faith at Veroli and Frosinone, between Rome and Naples. He is said to have been put to death for being a Christian, as early as A.D. 42. A Saint Demetrius and twenty others are named as having suffered with him. But there is now a tendency among scholars to dissociate altogether Saint Blasius from Saint Mary Salome and her Apostolate, and to date his life several hundred years later.
