Book of Saints – Beoadh

BEOADH (BEATUS) (Saint) Bishop (March 8) (6th century) Aeodh (Aidus), an Irish Saint, acquired the prefix Bo on account of the greatness of his virtues, and was appointed Bishop of Ardcarne (Roscommon). Little is known of his Acts, but the tradition of his piety and miracles remains. He went to his reward between A.D. 518 and A.D. 523. The “Bell of Saint Beoadh,” a beautiful work of art, was long in veneration as a relic.
